A sink on the sidewalk, Bond street
Yw art directed this shot. We had just been in a basement book store on Bond street specializing in photography books. She saw the sink on the sidewalk and told me to take a picture. It seems insignificant, but I like this photograph.
The last time I was in the photography book store, a man from the Netherlands was buying books left and right. The woman behind the counter showed him a catalogue of photography books. Post-it notes spilled out from the edges. She said a client was planning on building a library off the coast of Spain. He had asked them to amass all the books labelled in the catalog.
That time, I bought a copy of GIlles Peress' book on Bosnia. The woman told me it was a good purchase. I had wanted to buy a copy of Telex Iran, but the copy they had was a first edition paperback, priced beyond my budget. I ordered the reprint edition from the Scalo site.
