Jean. Jacket.

All of my jeans save one are ripped, and I noticed a small hole appearing just the other day. Saturday afternoon was beautiful; I was in Connecticut, and so I decided to go to the mall. After buying a pair of jeans at Old Navy, I went to Express. Years ago, I had purchased a pair of jeans there that I loved, but with the vagarities of fashion seasons, they had long disappeared from the shelves. Still, I couldn't help but look.

It was the spring denim clearance or some such thing, and all the jeans were on sale for 34.50. Of course, I couldn't find my size in the jeans that I liked, until I started digging in the back of the shelves. There, I found a slightly different style in a 31/32. They fit perfectly. En route to the cashier, I spied a jacket on a clearance rack. A red line went through the retail price of 178.00. Another red line went through the mark-down price of 49.99. The sale price was 29.99. I tried it on; it fit. I went to check out.

At the counter, the jeans rang up at 29.50. "Great deal," the casier said. No doubt. I'm a mallrat. Posted by eku at April 18, 2006 9:37 AM
