Lost in translation
I received a postcard yesterday from Aikiko. It was in Japanese. We met two years ago in Kyoto; I mistook her for a maiko. When I ran into her the next day at Kinkakuji, I didn't recognize her. She told me she was from Niigata, visiting the city, and donned the costume to take souvenir photos. When last I heard from her, she was volunteering for the World Cup. Her card was a nice surprise.

This photo was taken while waiting in line near the Minamazi theatre. I was about to see my first Kabuki theatre. Incidentally, if anyone is willing to translate Japanese into English, please drop me a line. I'll scan the card and email it to you. Thanks in advance!

(I may be either late or early, but I also submitted this to themethursday.)
