P. Diddy ran the city
I spent the day in the Bronx watching the marathon ("Go Ed! Go Lin! Go Eve! Go Guillemette!"). Standing around mile 21 and seeing the majority of the people looking more relaxed and happy than I expected almost makes me want to train for one. Almost. I should have some photos to post sometime later this week. Unfortunately, none of Lin (I was acting more as her pit crew rather than her photographer) nor of Guillemette (who was passing P.Diddy on the left when they were in front of me). Incidentally, there's a cool simulator where you can type in the names of up to four runners and watch their progress. You can even watch the same person across different years to see how they've improved (like Guillemette, who shaved more than half an hour off her previous time!).

This picture of Bryant Park, in contrast, is here to offer a calm respite from the demands of the race. Not quite so p.gritty.
